Among Marks’ many works, “Rudoph, the Red-Nosed Raindeer”1https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2008/12/rudolph-the-jewish-american-reindeer/9180/, which was based on a poem of the same name, written by Marks’ brother-in-law Robert L. May, Rudolph’s creator. In addition to his songwriting, he founded St. Nicholas Music in 1949, and served as director of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers [ASCAP].
