John Berman is a CNN news anchor of Sephardic Jewish descent. He graduated from Harvard with highest praise, and then joined ABC News.
After the inauguration of George W. Bush, John was assigned to cover the White House. About 6 months later, he asked to be assigned back to New York.
John Berman reported from World Trade Center during the September 11 attacks, and from Iraq between 2003 and 2008. Of his reporting in in Iraq, Berman said, “It was an incredible personal experience, absolutely terrifying, risky and physically grueling. As a reporter, you always want to be covering the biggest stories, despite the risks.”
