Tony Kushner

Award winning author, playwright, and screenwriter.

Best known for his two-part play ‘Angels in America’, centered around the AIDS epidemic of the 1980’s and featuring a depiction of homosexual Jewish lawyer Roy Cohn.

Fun Fact:

Kushner has collaborated with director Steven Spielberg for the films ‘Munich’, ‘Lincoln’, and 'West Side Story'.

In 2011, he was almost denied an honorary doctorate from CUNY for his comments on Israel, but was ultimately awarded the degree.
