Schumer is a cousin of Chuck Schumer, a member of the US Senate. Her career began to take off with the "Inside Amy Schumer" series, premiering on Comedy Central in 2013. She wrote and starred in the 2015 film "Trainwreck", directed by Judd Apatow.
